Alfonse Muto graduated from the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy in 1983 with a BS in pharmacy. Shortly after graduating he became a regional supervisor for Rite Aid Corporation and in 1985, he opened Pine Pharmacy on Pine Avenue in Niagara Falls, NY.
Alfonse has received many awards both locally and professionally over the years. Most notably, in 2001 when he received the “Orville Baxter Professional Practice Award”, this award is given through the university and seeks to recognize a practicing pharmacist who demonstrates high ideals of professionalism and whose practice of pharmacy demonstrates genuine concern for patients.
Other awards include the 2003 Community Missions Professional Award, 1998 Rising Star Award, and 1998 Hospice distinguished service award to name a few. Al is a member of many local and national organizations including PAWNY, NARD, PSSNY, IACP and has also served on the Cardinal Health advisory board.
Alfonse J. Muto, Pharm.D.
Alfonse J. Muto graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo with a doctorate in pharmacy in 2008. He has been practicing in the field of compounding and has gone on to become very active in his local and state associations. Alfonse is the current president for the Pharmacists’ Association of Western New York (PAWNY) and is the current chairman of the IV, Nuclear, and Compounding Academy of the Pharmacists Society of the State of New York (PSSNY) as well as a member of the Board of Directors of PSSNY.
In June 2012, Alfonse was awarded the National Alliance of State Pharmacy Associations (NASPA) Excellence in Innovation Award.
This award recognizes and honors a qualified pharmacist who has demonstrated significant innovation in his or her respective practice, method, or service directly or indirectly resulting in improved patient care and/or advancement of the profession of pharmacy. In January 2013, Alfonse became a Fellow of the International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists (IACP). The fellowship distinguishes pharmacists who are exemplary in their professionalism and commitment to the art and skill of pharmacy compounding.
Allison Gentile, Supervising Pharmacist at Pine Pharmaceuticals, is a 2011 graduate of the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Allison’s training in the practice of aseptic compounding started early in her pharmacy career as an intern at the Sisters of Charity Hospital-St. Joseph Campus in Cheektowaga, New York.
Upon graduation, Allison completed a Post Graduate Year One Pharmacy Residency with Kaleida Health at the Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo, where she was trained in all aspects of a pharmacist’s role in caring for the high-risk pediatric patient population. She was brought on as a staff pharmacist with Kaleida Health after the completion of her residency program. During her time at Children’s, she was responsible for the oversight of the aseptic compounding areas, ensuring the highest quality sterile drug products were provided to Western New York’s tiniest patients.
Allison continues to strive for pharmaceutical excellence in the supervision of the production process at Pine Pharmaceuticals, maintaining strict adherence to current Good Manufacturing Practices and delivering the best possible product to our clients.
Joette DiPerna, Pharm.D.
Joette DiPerna, Production Pharmacist at Pine Pharmaceuticals, is a 2008 graduate of University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. She has worked at Pine Pharmaceuticals since 2015.
Mr. Derrenbacher attended Lock Haven University (PA) and graduated with a B.S. in Sports Medicine and a certification in Athletic Training. He currently serves as Northeast Account Manager for Pine Pharmaceuticals. In this role, Jim is responsible for expanding Pine Pharmaceutical’s presence in the marketplace and generating synergy with both current and potential customers throughout the Northeast.
Jim has more than 20 years of experience in the medical sales industry and has served in a variety of leadership roles with several established organizations. Jim has been recognized for his accomplishments several times during his career, most notably, 2007 Salesperson of the Year while with ISTA Pharmaceuticals and the 2014 Zoll Medical Sales Growth and Leadership Award.
Jim and his wife Tracy reside in the Syracuse area. They are the proud parents of four wonderful children; Emily, Reed, Ryley and Eden.
